जुलाहस्य वेतनम्

The City Without Craft
माहेश्वरे जनाः कार्यं प्रार्थयन्ते स्म। अहिल्या चिन्तितवती — "केवलं कृषिः अपर्याप्ता। जुलाहानां कलां पुनः जीवनदातुं शक्नोमि।" सूरतात् निपुणान् जुलाहान् माहेश्वरं आहूतवती। तेभ्यः भूमिं, करघाः, आदेशाः च दत्ताः।
In Maheshwar, the people needed work and livelihood. Ahilya thought — "Agriculture alone is not enough. I can give new life to the art of weaving." She invited skilled weavers from Surat to Maheshwar. She gave them land, looms, and steady royal orders.
