Learning to Ride
प्रतिदिनं प्रातःकाले मनु अश्वशालायाम् आगच्छति स्म। "सारंगी" इति नाम्नः तस्याः प्रियः अश्वः आसीत्। सा अश्वम् आरुह्य गङ्गातटे वेगेन अधावत्। सारथिः अवदत् — "बाले! अतिशीघ्रम्! भयं मास्तु किम्?" मनु हसन्ती अवदत् — "भयं कदापि न भवति।"
Every day in the early morning, Manu would come to the stable. "Sarangi" was the name of her favourite horse. She would mount the horse and gallop along the Ganga's bank. The groom said — "Child! Too fast! Aren't you afraid?" Manu, smiling, replied — "I am never afraid."
