The Tragic Events at Jhansi Fort
जून १८५७ वर्षे झाँसीदुर्गे भारतीयसैनिकाः तत्रस्थान् ब्रिटिशाधिकारिणः अहन्। लक्ष्मीबाई रानीमहले आसीत् — दुर्गे न। सा समाचारं श्रुत्वा अत्यन्तं दुःखिता, भीता च अभवत्। "एतत् कदापि न भवेत् स्म!" इति सा अवदत्। परन्तु समाचारः पहले गतः — सत्यम् पश्चात्।
In June 1857, Indian soldiers in Jhansi Fort killed the British officers there. Lakshmibai was in Rani Mahal — not in the fort. Hearing the news, she became extremely distressed and afraid. "This should never have happened!" she said. But news travels fast — truth comes later.
