The Armies Face Each Other
रामस्य वानरसेना समुद्रपारं गतवती। रावणस्य राक्षससेना लङ्कायां आसीत्। द्वे सेने मुखामुखं अतिष्ठताम्। रणभेरी अवादयत् — युद्धम् आरब्धम्।
Rāma's monkey army crossed the ocean. Rāvaṇa's demon army was in Laṅkā. The two armies stood face to face. The war-drum sounded — the battle had begun.
