Dear Jyotirao
सावित्री पत्रम् अलिखत् — "प्रिय ज्योतिराव, अहम् अद्य सुस्था अस्मि। मार्गः कठिनः आसीत् — किन्तु बालिकाः आगताः। तासां नयनेषु — विद्यायाः ज्योतिः। तं दृष्ट्वा अहम् अविशन्। त्वं निराशः मा भव। आवाम् उचितं कर्म कुर्वः। तव सावित्री।"
Savitribai wrote a letter — "Dear Jyotirao, I am well today. The path was difficult — but the girls came. In their eyes — the jyoti (ज्योतिः — light, flame) of vidyā. Seeing that, I wept. Do not be nirāśa (निराशः — disheartened). The two of us are doing the right work. Your Savitri."
