The Mango Tree Secret
आम्रवृक्षरहस्यम्

lobhaḥ eva duḥkhasya kāraṇam.

The Greedy Neighbor
तेनालिरामस्य गृहे एकः आम्रवृक्षः आसीत्। सः वृक्षः बहु सुन्दरः आसीत्। प्रतिवर्षम् आम्राणि प्रचुराणि भवन्ति स्म। एकः लोभी पडोशी तम् वृक्षम् इच्छति स्म। सः एकदा तेनालिरामम् अवदत् — "एतम् वृक्षम् मह्यम् देहि।"
In Tenali's home there was a mango tree. That tree was very beautiful. Every year there would be abundant mangoes. A greedy neighbor wanted that tree. One day he said to Tenali — "Give me this tree."
