Three Friends
एकस्मिन् सरोवरे एकः कूर्मः वसति स्म। तस्य नाम कम्बुग्रीवः। तस्य द्वौ मित्रे हंसौ आस्ताम् — सङ्कटाक्षः विकटाक्षः च। त्रयः मित्राणि प्रतिदिनं मिलित्वा कथाः अकथयन्। ते सुखेन जीवन् स्म।
In a certain lake there lived a tortoise. His name was Kambugriva. He had two friends who were swans — Sankataksha and Vikataksha. The three friends met every day and told stories to each other. They lived happily.
